☁️ Hosted Photo Cloud Roadmap
Use GoDaddy or BigRock to build your own private Google Photos alternative.
Table of Contents
1
📦 Secure Your Domain & Hosting
Instead of a home PC, we use a professional server from GoDaddy or BigRock.
- ✅ Domain: Register a name (e.g., myphotos.com).
- ✅ Hosting: Buy a “Linux Shared Hosting” plan with cPanel.
- ✅ Storage: Ensure your plan has enough “Disk Space” for your library.
2
🚀 One-Click Install
Use the “Softaculous” installer inside your GoDaddy/BigRock cPanel:
- Search for Piwigo (Photo Gallery) or Nextcloud.
- Click Install Now.
- Choose your domain and set your Admin username/password.
3
🔒 SSL & Privacy Setup
Keep your private photos encrypted so hackers can’t see them.
- ✅ SSL: Activate “AutoSSL” in cPanel so your site starts with https://.
- ✅ Privacy: In Piwigo/Nextcloud settings, set all albums to “Private” so only you can log in.

📱 Connect Your Phone
Sync your mobile library automatically:
Download the Piwigo or Nextcloud app from the App Store/Play Store. Enter your domain URL and credentials. Turn on Auto-Upload.
💡 Advantage: Unlike home desktops, these servers are online 24/7 with 99.9% uptime!
