BuddyPress has got a fatal error on activation in the last release of 2.6.1 version. Even though you are making a clean installation for the first time with no other plugins installed the plugin is giving a fatal error like below:
Fatal error: Class ‘BP_Members_Component’ not found in /home/cpanelname/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-members/bp-members-loader.php on line 23
The issue has been later fixed in the latest version 2.6.1.1
Here are the steps to recover your WordPress website if you tried activation the BuddyPress and got struck with the above error.
- Login to the cpanel account.
- Go to the Plugins folder
- Search for the BuddyPress folder and delete it.
- Now you can access your admin page and try installing the latest version of BuddyPress 2.6.1.1
